The free software is a software that can be used, studied and modified without restriction, and which can be copied and redistributed in modified or unmodified form without restriction. This type of software has a lot of controversy, because it's the future of softwares.
In my opinion, the free software is better than the proprietary software because you don't have to pay the licence and you can be modify all programs to make it better. Furthermore, the "creator" of free software was Richard Stallman, and it's one of my heroes.
On the other hand, many people think that the free software is complicated to be used and prefer staying with proprietary software in spite of the fact that they have to pay the licence programs.
